Me: Hello?
Sam: Melinda? This is Sam.
Me: I have waited for years for this call. You finally kept your promise.
Sam: I always meant to you know, but things were so wrong and so much happened and we couldn't turn back the clock. I wanted to go after you when you left, but with all the lies and the pain between us...I didn't know what to do.
Me: I know, and you don't need to explain. I know the truth to every lie you told me and I know why you told it and I know why we both had to leave. I forgive you, and I forgive myself too.
Sam: You know in the midst of everything I loved you with all of me. I still do love you, and I will always love you.
Me: I know. When I take my last breath and the light slowly leaves my eyes, your name will be on my lips and I will take the love that I have for you that fills me into the next world. I will leave this world knowing that I had a love that was beyond all loves and my life was never in vain.
